Amount Unit Name Notes

  • 1 lb Ribeye Steak Thinly sliced (or use sirloin/shaved beef)
  • 1 Onion Thinly sliced
  • 1 Bell Pepper Green (red, or yellow, sliced)
  • 1 cup Mushrooms Optional (sliced)
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls Or use French bread or brioche buns
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese Or white American cheese or Cheez Whiz
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing or coating vegetables
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder Optional seasoning
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder Optional seasoning
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika Optional seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Optional for extra depth
  • Salt & Pepper To taste

Instructions

  1. Thinly slice the ribeye steak (tip: freeze for 20 minutes first). Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  2. Slice onions, bell peppers, and optional mushrooms. Toss with a little olive oil and air fry at 375°F for 7-9 minutes. Shake halfway.
  3. Place seasoned beef in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 6-8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  4. Add cheese slices on top of the cooked meat while still hot. Return to the air fryer for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  5. Toast hoagie rolls in the air fryer at 350°F for 1-2 minutes. Optionally, brush with garlic butter.
  6. Assemble the sandwich: toasted roll, cheesy beef, veggies on top. Press closed and wrap in foil for 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.

Notes

  • Pre-freezing the steak makes slicing easier and cleaner.
  • Customize with chicken, turkey, vegan meat, or portobello mushrooms.
  • Use low-carb tortillas or lettuce wraps for a low-carb option.
  • Add hot sauce, pickles, or chipotle mayo for extra flavor layers.
