Instructions
Prepare the Apples:
Wash and core the apples.
Slice them into even wedges.
To prevent browning, toss the slices in a bowl with lemon juice. Set aside.
Optional: Roast the Peanuts:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spread the peanuts on a baking sheet and roast for 10 minutes until fragrant.
Allow them to cool slightly.
Make the Peanut Butter:
Place the roasted peanuts into a food processor or high-speed blender.
Blend until the peanuts break down into a thick paste.
Continue blending until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
If the mixture is too thick, add peanut oil gradually to reach desired consistency.
Add sea salt and sweetener if desired, blending until incorporated.
Assemble the Snack:
Spoon the homemade peanut butter into a serving bowl.
Arrange the apple slices around the bowl on a platter.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes:
Store leftover peanut butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 weeks.
Apple slices can be stored in the refrigerator for 1–2 days; sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning.
For a fun twist, sprinkle apple slices with cinnamon or drizzle with a bit of honey before serving.
