Ingredients

For the sliders:

  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls or dinner rolls
  • 1 lb roasted turkey breast sliced
  • 8 slices thick-cut bacon cooked crisp
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Mornay sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pinch of nutmeg optional

For the topping butter:

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Make Mornay Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Slowly add milk and cream. Stir constantly until thickened. Add cheddar cheese, season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Remove from heat once melted and creamy.
  • Assemble Sliders: Slice the buns horizontally (keep tops and bottoms attached). Place bottom halves in the baking dish. Layer turkey, spoon over Mornay sauce, add bacon, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Place tops on.
  • Butter Topping: Mix melted butter with mustard, Worcestershire, garlic powder, and onion powder. Brush over the tops of the buns.
  • Bake Covered: Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Uncover and bake another 5–7 minutes until tops are golden and cheese is bubbly.
  • Serve Hot: Garnish with parsley if desired. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Toast bottom buns briefly before assembling to prevent sogginess.
  • Can be assembled a day ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Swap turkey with chicken or ham as needed.
  • For a spicy twist, add sliced jalapeños or use pepper jack cheese.
